Plan and deliver well-considered, quality design solutions
Motivate and inspires designers to produce their best work using their full flair, experience, resources and talents in a cost-effective way
Strive to eliminate health and safety risks in the design
Assess the suitability of the proposed design
Ensure completion and compliance of design management departmental procedures at bid and delivery stages
Ensure adherence to the design brief/scope of service and develop a comprehensive scope of service for key stages of project
Make and review design changes on an ongoing basis, identifying potential issues and resolve them with the design team and specialist subcontractors
Monitor progress and report to the project team
Ensure that design is developed in line with commercial and construction requirements and the cost plan budget allowances
Relevant Engineering or Construction Management degree
Experience in managing design on major projects
Strong knowledge of the build and design process
Understanding of cost control and experience working in both design and the build stage of major projects
Strong communicator both written and verbal and good people management capabilities
Progressive and team centric person who puts the team before self
