Senior Estimator Opportunity at Leading Construction Company
An established construction company is seeking a seasoned Estimator to join its dynamic team.

Role Overview:
The company is offering an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Estimator to advance into a Senior Estimator role. The successful candidate will work on diverse and challenging projects across various sectors, managing the complete tender process from initial client contact to final submission. This role involves:
- Producing high-quality, competitive bids
- Mentoring junior staff
- Contributing to the ongoing improvement of the estimating function
Key Responsibilities:
- Reviewing scopes, drawings, and specifications to prepare accurate budgets, estimates, and tenders
- Measuring and pricing from drawings, creating detailed quantity take-offs
- Identifying potential risks and opportunities to enhance project outcomes
- Developing and presenting value engineering solutions
- Selecting suitable suppliers and subcontractors, fostering long-term relationships
- Working closely with cross-functional teams for smooth project transitions
- Participating in regular management meetings
- Delivering exceptional customer service throughout the estimating process
The ideal candidate will have:
- Recent and significant experience in estimating commercial and industrial projects up to $30 million
- A proactive attitude, willingness to learn continuously, and an excellent work ethic
- Availability to commit to a full-time, permanent position from Monday to Friday
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience in commercial/industrial construction estimating, with expertise in hard dollar, D&C, and negotiated tenders
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction materials, methods, techniques, market conditions, and competitor behavior
- Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and responding to contract documentation, working drawings, and tender deliverables
- Deep understanding of relevant governing authority requirements
- Self-motivation and effective team collaboration skills
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills
Highly Desirable:
- A recognised degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a trade background
- Proficiency with estimating and non-estimating software, including Cubit Estimating, Estimate One, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office
- Ability to develop scopes, sketch drawings, and methodologies for D&C projects from concept
- Proven experience in generating and converting leads to tenders, and developing new and existing market opportunities and client relationships
