Lendlease has won the contract to deliver stage two of Caboolture Hospital Redevelopment Project, one of Queensland’s most critical health infrastructure projects. The company will lead construction and development for this project that includes a commitment in funding $352.9 million on redevelopment plans for Caboolture Hospital with an additional $46.6 million towards new multi-storey car park facilities to increase bed capacity while ensuring residents have access to modern healthcare services, including specialist care options available at their hospital site.

Queensland Health and Ambulance Services Minister Yvette D’Ath announced a plan to redevelop the Caboolture Hospital in order to meet the growing needs of its community. “The redevelopment will provide a modern health facility that can deliver specialised healthcare and complex services, much-needed by those who live in the area,” she said.

The Caboolture Hospital is excited to announce that Lendlease has been chosen as the company for Stage 2 of construction. This will allow them not only to extend their hospital by adding a five-storey clinical services building but also deliver on much-needed multi-storey parking and refurbish any areas in need within the older parts of the hospital. The additional expansion means more patients can access health services they so desperately need closer to home!

Mark Ryan, Member for Morayfield, said that the Palaszczuk Government’s investment in health services to support growth in Moreton Bay would also be a boon for local jobs. “We know that supporting jobs in construction is an important part of Queensland’s economic recovery,” he says.” Delivering healthcare infrastructure will help improve physical and mental wellbeing.

Member for Pumicestone Ali King welcomes the announcement and is excited to see this project come together. It will be a bigger hospital that better serves Caboolture’s community, as well as being environmentally friendly by using sustainable materials in construction.

Lendlease building general manager, Brad Protheroe, said that the team was focused on a redevelopment design that catered to the growing operational requirements of Caboolture Hospital. Protheroe also mentioned how Lendlease has worked closely with Queensland Government, Metro-North Health Service, and other key stakeholders in identifying this sustainable way forward for both patients and visitors alike.

This project will also be the testing grounds for sustainable construction practices – a key component of Lendlease’s global campaign, Mission Zero. This initiative aims to tackle climate change and is part of Lendlease’s mission-based approach in creating buildings from scratch that are environmentally sound as well as aesthetically pleasing.
