Penrith City Council is now the proud owner of 16.29 hectares of industrial land, previously home to Rocla Pipes. With all this new space available and a lack thereof in Penrith’s Industrial Area, they plan on subdividing it into smaller pieces so that more businesses can get their foot in the door!

This project brings in close to $37 million each year and will be completed by 2023. Planning phases of this development will start as soon as possible with an expected application being filed next year, which aligns well with council’s strategic vision for Penrith – becoming a world class city while still having jobs nearby!

Mike McKeown, Penrith mayor, urged for more jobs in his city. With a population set to grow by 60 thousand people over the next 10 years with half their working force already commuting outside of it each day for work; he knows how important that is going to be. He claims they will not only need new homes but also ways for all those newly employed residents at Emu Plains industrial precinct who will generate 300-350 construction jobs once completed.
