Tutt Capital has submitted a development application for an 14-storey commercial led building that will be located at 388 Brunswick Street in the Heart of Fortitude Valley.
This development would bring an engaging art media wall installation to the corner of Brunswick and McLachlan Street in Brisbane’s busy Fortitude Valley entertainment district. It replaces the 29-storey tower application submitted in May.
This proposal by Blight Rayner Architecture not only represents a high-quality example of contemporary architecture but also seeks to deliver subtropical gardens that respond beautifully in Brisbane’s warm climate. The building will have an innovative corner LED façade and all the relevant design elements within New World City Design Guide – Buildings that Breathe (‘Buildings that Breathe Guideline’).
In an upcoming development application, it has been proposed that there be a unique and contemporary public art strategy that would compliment the nearby Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts with a digital media wall built into the design of their podium. This will include animations as well 3D imagery or visual materials which can signify the entertainment precinct in Brisbane City Centre.
The project also proposes to use creative lighting by illuminating soffits along with the city room on a key corner of the site. This will create an end-of-trip facility with 84 bike racks, 112 lockers and 6 showers in each EOT bathroom included as well. The corner tenancy will be a retail space that curves underneath and behind the LED art wall with sculptural stairs connecting it to another level. There is also a proposal for a 50m2 lobby cafe as well as green walls in front of the entrance on Brunswick Street.
